A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the prestigious Manchester Aquatic Centre on
Saturday for the third Rising Stars gala of 2025.
We were honoured to welcome the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Carmine Grimshaw
and the Lady Mayoress, who witnessed a brilliant showcase of local talent.
The Lord Mayor was on hand to present the winning trophies, with Wythenshawe Swimming
Club taking home the overall Top Team trophy and Raven Moss/Matt Walker Academy winning
the Relay trophy.

The event is organised and officiated by volunteers from the City of Manchester Aquatics Swim
Team, with the elite swimmers from the senior squads providing timekeeping and support.
The Gala is an invitation event for the local network of Manchester community swimming clubs.
The clubs involved are Broadway, Harpurhey, Wythenshawe, COMAST Raven Moss, COMAST
Hough End, COMAST Academy, the Matt Walker Academy for disability swimmers, Chadderton
and Wright Robinson School.

Wythenshawe SC won the overall Team Trophy, keenly contested by Harpurhey, and the City of
Manchester Academy in third.

The next gala is scheduled for 22nd November 2025.
