Following the success our athletes had last year, our age group swimmers travelled en-mass to Ponds Forge for the Rotherham Meet on the 1st and 2nd July, for the final competition of our 2022-23 season.

Similar to our success at the 2022 competition, all swimmers had a great weekend; winning lots of medals, hitting huge pbs, along with making great strides forward in their race skills, technique and pacing. It was rewarding as a coaching team to see this young cohort, from Dev 1, Dev 2, County, Regional, Junior/Senior, Hough End, and Matt Walker Academy all continue to grow and develop their swimming craft.

Several stand out highlights from across the weekend:

Weronika Rozwarska- going sub 30 for the first time on 50 Free – a massive PB!

Olivia Ryan – dropping close to 10 seconds in 200 Free, to post a 2.20

Emily Rowe – Maintaining great underwater skills, minimum 3 fly kicks off every wall the entire weekend.

Alexander Richard and Richard Li – An excellent weekends racing, having never swam for any club before March this year!

Beau Hanson – Showed some great raw potential, having not competed for several years.

Isabella Birtles-Healy – competing in her third licensed competition ever and getting PBs in every event.

Special thank you to our COMAST parents Andy, Patryk and Rebecca who volunteered as officials across the weekend, supporting events like these to run.
